Police Fatally Shoot Man Who Confronted Firefighters at Huntington Park Fire

A man armed with a knife was shot and killed by police in Huntington Park Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The deadly chain of unfolded after the LA County Fire Department responded to a fire before midnight in the 6500 block of Marbisa Avenue in the southeaster Los Angeles County community.

Procession held in honor of fallen CAL FIRE firefighter

VIDEO: On Monday, firefighters from all over the state paid tribute to one of their own, Cal Fire Captain Chris Moyle. Moyle passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 8. Firefighters from multiple departments welcomed Moyle’s procession with a silent salute. A flag was lifted high above the fire truck to pay tribute to Captain Moyle.

4 Children, 2 Adults Displaced In Temecula House Fire

A fire that erupted in the garage of a Temecula residence Monday spread into the living quarters before firefighters contained it, leaving a family of six displaced. The non-injury blaze was reported at 11:55 a.m. in the 33000 block of Romero Drive, near Lauriano Drive, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire Destroys Trailer Parked In Downtown Sacramento

VIDEO: A trailer parked along 16th Street in Sacramento was destroyed by fire Wednesday morning. The fire broke out around 6 a.m. in a small camping-style trailer that was parked along 16th Streets and A Street, just north of Blue Diamond Almond Growers. Electrical lines could be seen sparking near the fire as firefighters put out the flames.

California surpasses 7 million COVID cases, with 1 million recorded in 1 week

California has recorded more than 7 million coronavirus cases, after its fastest accumulation of reported infections in the history of the pandemic. The unprecedented count, recorded in California’s databases late Monday, comes one week after the state tallied its 6 millionth coronavirus case. Even during last winter’s disastrous wave, new infections increased more slowly.

City nominates 1st woman to lead Los Angeles Fire Department after chief announces retirement

VIDEO: For the first time in its history, the Los Angeles Fire Department may soon have its first female fire chief. Kristin Crowley, who currently serves as LAFD's deputy chief and fire marshal, will be nominated to lead the department after Mayor Eric Garcetti along with City Council President Nury Martinez on Tuesday exclusively told ABC7 that LAFD Chief Ralph Terrazas is planning to retire.
